Hello,

I am Johnny Ye. I am just a kid who loves shoes. Playing basketball in 5th grade helped me discover my passion for footwear design. More specifically, it all started with a pair of green Nike basketball shoe (NIKE Hyperdunk 2011) that my cousin got me in 6th grade from an outlet store in Orlando. When I put that shoe on, I felt like Blake Griffin jumping over the KIA. It made me feel special, confident and more importantly it helped me understood the power of brand and design at a real young age.

Right now as a footwear designer, I try to use stories of brand, sports and users to drive my design process. Solving problems and finding the balance between aesthetic and function. I want my designs to be inclusive. Celebrating identity and individuality. Tell stories for brand, sports and athletes.

Currently at PUMA, working on golf shoes in Carlsbad, California :)
